One of the first things I did when I started here in November was to introduce Jira, prior to that we lacked a certain amount of structure.
This appeared on the divider between the (recently relocated) programmers and the photography area this lunchtime.
I think I'm winning hearts and minds! ;-)
I've been sucked into facebook and all it stands for, and I searched for my own name (as you do) and discovered about a dozen or so Dan, Daniel and Danny Angus registered.
So, following in the footsteps of Dave Gorman I set up a group "I'm Danny Angus! Are you Danny Angus too?"
Why am I telling you this? Simple, get those Dan, Daniel and Danny Angus signed up for the facebook group.
The actual point of the group? Hell don't ask me difficult questions.
Gave my talk on James yesterday, I'm not sure how it went, I can never tell. However its done now. I could've done with less material, or more time, which isn't such a bad thing.
If it gets accepted for Apachecon US 07 I'll definitely rationalise it a bit.

While I'm blogging I ought to tell you that I finished, and submitted, the slides for my talk on Apache James at Apachecon EU 2007 and let me tell you, if you like diagrams you're in for a treat!
Now I need to put some polish on the lyrics.
Emma is now thirteen (happy birthday darling!) where did the last thirteen years go?
I hope the next thirteen don't fly past quite as quick, or I'll be fifty-two before I know it. :-(

Flushed with the sucess of my first ApacheCon presentation in Dublin last year, Happy New Year by the way, which the Dublin audience [pictured below] liked everything about apart from my competence (I'll practice for next time I promise!) which was below average but NOT "poor"!, I just proposed two James related papers for ApacheCon EU 07 , one on James as an application server and the other on the Mailet API as distinct from James.
Hopefully at least one of them will be accepted, IMO it is high time the James community started to make up for the woeful lack of James related activities outside of the project itself.
So if you're involved in the review of the submissions I'm shamelessly asking you to give James its 15 minutes (well 2 x 60 minutes in fact) in the spotlight this year...
Hey hey, the hotel is pretty plush, and the seminars are good, lots of steak and not too much sizzle.
Slightly dissapointed with the lightning lottery talks, but hey thats just one thing.
Oh and... could someone find a bag sponsor for next year? The EU '05 bag was much better than this one. Mabey we could get a bag manufacturer to sponsor the bags.

People have kindly told me that I don't look it, but its cold comfort when you consider how much less of my life I have left that I had when I was twelve.
